The rooms at Locus Amoenus are just amazing! They are set right in the stone of the Sassi di Matera, giving them a unique charm and an incredible view. As a young holiday-goer, I was in awe of the beauty and history surrounding me.
Personally, I found that the tile/marble floor in the quadruple room was a little slippery. However, I understand that this may be subjective, and others might not have the same issue.

Our stay at Locus Amoenus was beyond expectation. The prime location made it easy to explore the magical city of Matera. Parking was not a challenge, with a short walk from the lot to the hotel. The accommodation was exactly as described, with a breathtaking view right outside our doorstep. The main sites were closer than expected and our host, Elizabetta, was excellent in communicating and providing us with insights on the city's history. The breakfast was perfection and we wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you, Elizabetta!
We recommend this hotel.

The house is set right in the stone of the Sassi, offering a unique and breathtaking view. As a family with kids, we were in awe of the historical ambiance and the stunning surroundings.
The room had a tile/marble floor, which felt a bit cold. However, it's a matter of personal preference, and others may still find it enjoyable.

The location is excellent, with free parking within 10 minutes and easy access to the main street connecting the different parts of Matera. The apartment's unique selling point is that it is situated in an 8000 years old cave, providing a special atmosphere while still being modern and comfortable. The room is large, the bed is comfortable, the shower is perfect, and the breakfast is good. The balcony offers a fabulous view of the sassi.
Nothing I didn't like to be fair.

The house is located right in the heart of Matera's Sassi, with a stunning view. It feels like you're living in the stone! The rooms are very nice and have air conditioning and ventilation to keep the humidity at bay. I slept like a baby! Each unit has a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, and a fridge. Everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Personally, I found the tile/marble floor in the quadruple room a bit cold to walk on. But hey, some people might like that refreshing sensation!
